Vaccine for cat allergies?

Categories: Allergic Asthma

Question:

I read a study on the internet done at Johns Hopkings back in March of 95 that discusses a vaccine to those allergic to cats.  My wife is asthmatic and highly allergic to cats.  This vaccine was developed from cat dander allergen Fel d1.  Is there anyone familiar with this treatment or any other treatments different from standard immunotherapy allergy shots? Scott Mulhollen

FYI, there is a vaccine called ALLERVAX CAT that has been developed by Immulogic corporation massachusetts. It completed clinical trials successfully this year and I believe the company will be filing for FDA approval later this year
