alchohol & asthma
Question:
Can a severe asthmatic have a raised blood alchohol content, and/or cause strange answers to questions? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Some drugs might lower your tolerance for alcohol (so don’t drink and drive no matter what.) Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) often makes me drowsy…although my Dr. never mentioned a specific contraindication for alcohol, so you might want to ask yours. Strange answers to questions could be a lot of things…from the alcohol itself to any number of medication interactions. Amoung other possibilities, acting strangely is one of the symptoms of dehydration (and alcohol will dehydrate you; that’s one reason a hangover gives people "cotton mouth.") The safe strategy: don’t drink until you see an M.D. Scott-T.
