Been there, done that. In my case after seeing an incompetent and plodding eye ear nose and throat doc for 2 years and being put through hell with pills, and nasal sprays while the problem got worse, I went to a highly qualified and well known specialist who was an Otolaringoligist (sp?) who peered up the old snoz with instruments I had never seen before and he found my sinusus full of polyps.  He removed them (twice, since they were still bad in my maxilaries which are beside the nose) After that I had my nose problem solved but unfortunately the repeated bronchial infections that occurred because of the sinus infections gave me chronic asthma that I have had to deal with for the last 6 years.  My advice, have the nose checked by a competent specialist ASAP and eliminate that possibility.  The operation is not that bad if you need one. good luck

:  I have had asthma for over 3 years, and over this time had suffered : almost continuously from a stuffed up nose. My nasal passages have   : never been clear, and its really driving me crazy. Now I’m breathing : through my mouth all the time.My doc. gave me Nasacort but it didn’t : help. Does anyone have/know a solution or medication to this problem? : Has anyone suffered from a problem such as this?  I had continuos cold-like symptoms a couple of years ago. Runny nose  or plugged up nose. Used lots of kleenex, was real miserable. I found  the source of these problems to be the local newspaper <San Francisco  Chronicle> . I canceled my subscription and only read it in the on-line  form, or while sitting in the wind by the bay. My problems disappered!  I can now feel the lining of my nasal passages react to the presence  of the paper…..some otheres as well, and I also seem to suffer  some ill effects if I stick around Xerox machines or laserwriters  for any length of time.  These environmental problems are very tough to isolate. In my case it  took a combination of circumstances and some memory work to piece  the puzzle together.   Good luck,    Paul  Daly City,Ca.
