Exercise induced relapses

Categories: Bronchial Asthma

Question:

Hi, I am not clear whether users of asthma.alt found my prevoius message concerning exersise-induced asthma. The answer to questions may be following. During movement or performing any other kind of physical activity asthmatic inhances breathing rate. This induced excessive loss of the water from the surface of bronchi, the osmic pressure starts elevating that in turn leads to the breaking of resting potential maintained at bronchial smooth muscle. So, the direct trigger in that instance is the dryness of bronchial mucosa. Of cause, the persistent inflammation also can not be easily ruled out. In our hospital we develop non-invasive approaches how to separate inflammatory changes in bronchi ffrom non-inflammatory ones. Sergei —     Sergei V. Response:

Perhaps in Ukraine the air is always dry.  I have never been there so I don’t know.  I do know that where I live the humidity level is frequently 90% in the summer.  Now, I have exercise induced asthma.  If the cause of this were dry bronchial mucosa why do I still have the exercise induced asthma in such high humidity?
