accolate / zyflo
Question:
I recently began taking Accolate ( 2 days ago) . Could anyone tell me their experiance with this drug. Are zyflo and accolate about the same drug? There is not a whole lot out on the net about these drugs yet. Ras www.geocities.com/HotSprings/6548/index.html Ron "Funky lung" Suarez home page
Response:
Accolate blocks leuketrines once produced, and zyflo inhibits their production. Leuketrines are some of the chemicals that are believed to cause long term inflammation linked to asthma. Accolate is twice a day. Zyflo is four times a day. Zyflo may be more effective, but patients are required to take a liver enzyme test periodically because zyflo plays havoc with liver enzymes in some people.
